1st General Membership Meeting for 2015

The objective of this years’ GMM, which was held last February 23 at the Greenhills UNO Seafood Palace, was to gather the members of the Association for an update on the work done by the new Board of Directors on behalf of the Association and to inform the group of all upcoming projects & changes to the industry that would affect the members and their respective companies. This was also a chance for the Association members to share their concerns to the leadership so that they may be addressed accordingly.

In attendance was Guest of Honor for the night, the Chief of the Firearms & Explosives Office, P/Chief Supt. Moro Virgilio Lazo. Also in present was the birthday celebrant, Asst. Chief FEO, Sr. Supt. Osit and other FEO officers namely Sr. Supt. Daway, Sr. Supt. Bulalacao, Chief Insp. Jaucian & Chief Insp. Vete.

The President of the Association took to the stage early on to delivery her report to the membership. Among those part of the President’s report was the financial assistance extended by AFAD to the fallen SAF44 and the survivors of the Mamasapano operation and a progress report on the search for the next show manager of the coming Defense and Sporting Arms Show which included an introduction from the two companies being considered to run the show. Also part of the night program was the recognition of the Association’s previous two term President, Mr. Jethro Dionisio and the presentation of  a Plaque of Appreciation for his selfless service to AFAD.

This was followed by an open forum with the FEO, represented by Chief Supt. Lazo, with the goal of addressing and relaying the concerns of the members present. This gave the membership an opportunity to voice out their concerns and suggestions with regards to the current system being implemented by the FEO. The rest of the night was dedicated to socializing amongst the members & the officials and of course enjoying the amazing dinner prepared by UNO.

The Association is extremely humbled that Chief Supt. Lazo & the rest of the FEO officers gave up their personal time to be there for the Association and it’s members. The Board of Directors would also thank the attendees and last but not the least, the members who worked to make this event a successful one.
